Beauty therapy courses in bournemouth

Jasmine Holmes

Jasmine has been in the beauty industry for nearly 7 years. After qualifying Level 3 Beauty Therapy at Bournemouth and Poole College back in 2019, she has not stopped learning since with the mental attitude of ‘knowledge is power’.

From studying her Level 2 and 3 beauty therapy and learning all the basics of the industry, Jasmine has gone on to complete advanced treatments including chemical peels, semi permanent make up, aesthetics and laser hair removal. Her knowledge of every treatment she offers, including anatomy and physiology is second to none.

Jasmine built up her clientele by working from home for 12 months before opening up her first salon, Holmes of Beauty in October 2022, where she now employs 10 staff members including 4 trainee apprentices.

From being a student at Bournemouth and Poole College, Jasmine now works closely with the college with the work experience and apprenticeship scheme, helping the next generation of beauty therapists learn everything they need to know to excel in their career.

Jasmine is dedicated to changing the beauty industry for the better, from experiencing first hand that apprentices do not usually receive the support and training they require, Jasmine wants to ensure all her students and apprentices do not feel disheartened to carry on perusing the career they love in an industry that is so unregulated.

Since then, Jasmine has completed her Teacher Training Qualification and written all her courses herself which are now accredited by ABT, to ensure students and apprentices receive top quality training with a lifetime of ongoing support and guidance.

Michael Pollock

Michael started his career in 2006 training with a leading salon brand in the West Midlands. He was lucky to receive brand training with the likes of Wella and Tigi, and passed level 2 and 3 in 18 months!

After completion Michael moved to the Middle East at the age of 18, and realised he needed to further his training. This led Michael to train again with Wella and Tigi and later on became a country ambassador in Kuwait educating salons on both bedhead & Tigi copyright colour.

Travelling to Dubai & London regularly to keep upskilling himself, whilst spending time with other hair professionals, he kept hearing the same complaints- that the new generation of hair professionals were not receiving the right level of training. This led Michael to complete the assessors award so he is able to train all the staff in salon, and has trained 6 apprentices over the last 3 years since returning to the UK.

Michael has also trained in that time with Jack Howard (Balayage specialist), Catherine Boden’s Hollywood colour blend, Not Another Academy, Menspire & Sid sottung academy.

“I have educated for a leading colour brand and now want to help hairdressers in training, and those qualified maximise their potential.

When educating I utilise the see/do/stop/check technique which maximises your day and really breaks everything down so you leave confident you can execute your new skills successfully back in salon.”
